LEGACY
"Legacy, what is a legacy? It's planting seeds in a garden you never get to see. I wrote some notes at the beginning of a song someone will sing for me." (Miranda, L. (2015). The Pay it Forward foundation seeks to honor Shayla Chavis's life by fulfilling her dreams to provide opportunities to rising thespians and chemists. As a organization, we strive to continue and maintain her legacy of excellence for generations to come. Armed with the ability to touch the lives of and assist in the advancement of under served youth in disproportionately affected communities. Our true mission is to Pay it forward. To inspire these youth to step forward in their greatness, to appreciate the gift and value of higher education and to become empowered to encourage others to walk in excellence.
The Pay it Forward Foundation aspires to provide guidance and support for students, while fostering their academic achievement and continuous growth process. To provide scholarships, school supplies, care packages, educational, social & emotional growth resources, and personal & character development strategies. To further enhance our goal we aspire to assist families who have lost a child with crisis intervention strategies, a support based network, community outreach and charitable services that will increase their mental health stability and to support their overall physical betterment.
